My Views: Charlton vs Boro

My Views: Charlton 1 Boro 2

Its certainly been a bad week to be a Charlton fan. Within 3 days we have lost to our nearest rivals and lost our home record by the same scoreline.

I do believe Charlton have a problem. Curbs has said its to do with confidence but I disagree. I think its because Curbishley does not know his first team. Now im not having a go at Curbs but he does need to start picking a team and use it regulally. He seems to be making on average 3-4 changes every week.

And our biggest issue is scoring goals. Jeffers and Lisbie have 2 each this season, JJ with one and none for Bartlett. This problem needs to be sorted in january transfer market, and if it was up to me I would go for 2 strikers, one being Ipswich's Marcus Bent. Bartlett and Lisbie for me are useless. Bartlett can win the balls in the air but when was the last time he had a shot on goal?

Lisbie has pace but he rarely uses it, he can hold the ball up but once again he doesnt get many attempts on goal. Jeffers like the rest of the new signings is still settling in, but at least he shows signs of scoring.

But one worring thing i noticed against Boro was the lack of midfield. We have quality midfielders, but at times they were missing in action. When we pushed forward they were to deep and when they needed to help the defence they wasnt there. At least Jerome Thomas showed potential again,

Tottenham is next away from home. Tottenham have lost 4 of their last 5 games so this could be a chance to gain an away point at least.
