Predictions: Austria vs. England

England are back in action tonight as they get started on the road to Germany 2006, their first opponents are Austria away. I think this will be a good test for England; they need to bounce back after Euro 2004 and also need to introduce new faces for the new World Cup campaign, its nice to see Shaun Wright-Phillips given a chance.

It finally looks like Eriksson is going to play both Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridges down the left-hand side. I don’t mean to boast but I have been saying this for a long time but with Bridge at left back and Cole as left-midfield, as Cole is the most attacking off the two. I'm hoping it works, as I believe it can help England with that left hand position.

Prediction:

I think England will be too strong for them. I can see us winning but it may be a struggle. If we have a good first half I think we will win 2-0 with both goals from Madrid's new boy Michael Owen.
