Wycombe 1 - 2 Charlton

Charlton returned to winning ways following 20 days without a game thanks to a 2 -1 win at Wycombe Wanderers.

Charlton looked like the stronger side when they had possession, but yet again displayed poor judgement when it came to giving the ball away and not closing down the attack.

The Addicks should have been made to pay for their mistakes throughout the game, but thankfully Wycombe’s shooting exampled why they are in the relegation positions.

Jonjo Shelvey opened the scoring midway through the first half after some great play down the right wing by Lloyd Sam.

Charlton had a few more opportunities in the first half, but were denied by the woodwork and some good defensive play by the Chairboys.

Half Time: 0- 1

The 2nd half saw Charlton again appear to be the stronger side but unable to close the game and travelling fears were realised as Wycombe scored an equaliser after some poor defending in the 64th minute.

But Parky needs promotion this season and with the Wycombe goal came 3 quick substitutions in Chris Dickson, Leon McKenzie and a welcome return for Frazer Richardson.

Charlton were again on the front foot and after some great attacking play re- took the lead on 77 minutes thanks to a Nicky Bailey strike.

The full time score was 2 -1 to Charlton which helps the Addicks keep the pressure on both Leeds and Norwich in the League One title race.
