Tottenham 2 Charlton 2

Tottenham staged a stirring second half comeback to rescue a point in a thrilling London derby against Charlton at White Hart Lane.

Goals from Robbie Keane, and sub Stefan Iversen cancelled out two Jason Euell strikes.

But Spurs day was blighted yet again with the dismissal of German international Christian Zeige for two bookable offences - the second time in four days that has happened.

However, Charlton had Richard Rufus to thank for holding onto the point in injury time when he headed Iversen's acrobatic overhead off the line.

Spurs, who had welcomed back skipper Teddy Sheringham from injury, hit the ground running after their impressive 3-2 win at Manchester City on Monday.

As early as the second minute, Keane beat two Charlton defenders on the by-line before being denied by Dean Kiely and shortly afterwards Zeige fired in a dipping free-kick which the keeper did well to hold.

But Charlton took the lead against the run of play with their first meaningful attack.

Kevin Lisbie slipped by Chris Perry's tackle and his low cross was finished off by Euell.

The goal lifted Charlton and Kasey Keller in the Tottenham goal was forced into smart saves from Parker and Bartlett.

At the other end, Keane tested Kiely with a stinging drive and shortly afterwards Sheringham fired into the side netting.

Spurs replaced Darren Anderton with Welsh International Simon Davies at half-time.

However it was Charlton who were seen celebrating when Euell fired home his second goal of the game after a block tackle from Perry had fallen into his path.

Glenn Hoddle responded with a double substitution, sending on Stefan Iversen and Les Ferdinand for Stephan Freund and Sheringham.

And Iversen was involved in Spurs first goal, heading the ball down for Keane to volley past Kiely.

Then 11 minutes later, Iversen grabbed Tottenham's equaliser by heading home a deep cross from Simon Davies.

The drama continued right at the very end.

Zeige was shown his second yellow card and then deep in injury time Rufus denied Iversen with that fabulous goal-line clearance.
