Bailey Wright on time

Australian Bailey Wright scored his first ever goal for Preston as Graham Westley's men rescued an unlikely point in a 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing MK Dons.

Wright's last-minute header salvaged a draw for horribly out-of-form Preston as the Dons missed out on the chance to further consolidate their play-off place.

The contest was set to the backdrop of Sir Tom Finney's 90th birthday celebrations, with video tributes played out on the Deepdale big screens, including messages from David Beckham, Sir Alex Ferguson and FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

But Darren Potter spoiled the party in the 26th minute after Alan Smith's dummy allowed the midfielder to waltz unchecked into the penalty area and calmly slot past Thorsten Stuckmann.

Chris Holroyd's header then went within inches of providing an immediate response for North End, but his header beat everyone bar the crossbar.

But Wright's 90th-minute header from Paul Coutts' free-kick ensured Preston were deservedly rewarded for their endeavours, but it is now two wins in 16 attempts for Westley at the North End helm.
