Jason Euell grabbed his 12th of the season as Charlton draw at Filbert Street

Jamie Scowcroft scored his seventh goal of the campaign to boost the Foxes hopes of only a fourth victory of the campaign. But Jason Euell levelled for the Addicks to leave Leicester still well adrift of the safety zone. Muzzy Izzet was City's most creative player despite suffering a first-half leg injury and at one stage it looked as if he would have to be substituted.
Scowcroft had caused problems in the air before limping out of the action shortly after half-time while Frank Sinclair was impressive at the back. Mathias Svensson was the first to threaten when he shot over the bar from 12 yards out after good play by Scott Parker.Leicester played with plenty of purpose and they scored after 20 minutes.

Matthew Piper got past the challenge of Luke Young on the left flank and sent over a dangerous cross which was met by Scowcroft who sent a powerful header past Dean Kiely.

Leicester continued to look the more threatening but they were relieved when Sinclair came within inches of scoring another spectacular own goal. The former Chelsea defender tried to clear a centre from Young but sliced it against his own crossbar. Chris Powell became the first player to be yellow-carded after he kicked the ball away when disputing a free-kick awarded to the home side.
It was against the run of play when Charlton got back on level terms after 41 minutes. Damien Delaney failed to cut out a pass from Svensson to Graham Stuart who had time to float a centre into the path of Euell who made no mistake from close range. But the home side nearly regained the lead in first half injury-time when Parker cleared a downward header from Sinclair off the line following an Izzet corner.

Dave Bassett was booed when he replaced Scowcroft with Stefan Oakes after 52 minutes although it was apparent the former Ipswich striker was carrying a knock. Leicester gained a second wind and Deane could have put them back in front after 70 minutes. A corner from substitute Oakes bounced off John Fortune into the path of Deane seven yards out but he placed his shot too close to Kiely who was able to save.
