Charlton made a brilliant comback against a defiant Luton Town. The Word action is something that sums up the match in one word.

Luton, who currently lie ninth in the Nationwide Second Division, put out a full strength team against what looked like on paper a full strength Charlton team, which included the

likes of; Scott Parker, Paolo Di Canio, Matt Holland and Kevin Lisbie but to name a few.

Charlton were the first to hit the net, only for Lisbie's effort to be disallowed. But Kevin Foley and David Bayliss gifted the visiting fans something to shout about going 2-0 up in the space of 3 minutes.

But Scott Parker scored his first goal of the season to put Charlton back in the game with a right-footed strike from 6 yards. Lisbie made the comeback with a goal on 58 minutes to add to the one he scored at Villa the saturday before.

Gary McSheffrey put Luton 3-2 up with a debut goal, he is loaned out from Coventry. All looked over but a first goal from Paolo Di Canio ensured Charlton could take the game into Extra-Time.

This was the third game in a row that Luton have conceded a goal in the 90th minuted.

It was only 5 minutes into Extra Time when Claus Jensen hit a 20 yard drive into the net to hand Charlton a brilliant comeback. Scenes of that game, the playoff final, came into the heads of Charlton fans after Charlton won on penalties after the game ended 4-4. But Luton captain Chris Coyne gave the away team some hope.

It came to penalties which finished 8-7 after a dramatic miss from Luton captain Chris Coyne. Charltons scorers were, Di Canio, Euell, Fortune, Johansson, Jensen, Holland, Parker and Fish.
