Charlton earned there first point at The Valley to Everton. The match provided great attaking football from both sides.

Charlton had the most of the possesion in the first-half with some fantastic work from Jason Euell which saw his overhead kick sail just over the goal. But it was Parker who got the crowd excited with a 40-yard burst which saw him do a neat one, two with Radostin Kishishev and brought down in the box. Euell duly converted, sending Toffees keeper Richard Wright the wrong way.

Two Minutes later Everton took advantage of a slip up in the Charlton defence which saw Steve Watson sneak between Luke Young and Jon Fortune to lob Dean Kiely.

The second-half was alot more equal with both sides having the same number of chances. Hermann Hreidarsson charging through Everton defender Joseph Yobo who desperately kicked out to give Charlton another spot-kick of the night, which again Jason Euell converted again sending Wright the
wrong way.

But as usual it was Evertons child prodigy, Wayne Rooney, who pulled Everton back with a neat turn and finish that blasted into the roof of the Charlton net.
