Charlton 0-0 Leeds- Match Report

Charlton and Leeds play out goalless draw at The ValleyCharlton ended a losing streak with a goalless draw against Leeds at The Valley. The Addicks enjoyed a brief spike in results when Karel Fraeye took over with a couple of wins, but then suffered three defeats in succession

This draw sees them edge out of the bottom three. With Morgan Fox dropped and Patrick Bauer suspended, following his second dismissal of the season in the 3-2 loss at Brighton, Harry Lennon and Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, went into the back four.Leeds on the other hand, have picked up under new boss Steve Evans with three wins and a draw from five games now.Charlton fans once more protested against the club's owners before the game and a couple of minutes into the match before getting behind their team. They almost had a goal to celebrate after nine minutes when Ricardo Vaz Te cleverly set Ademola Lookman clear and his shot trickled along the line with Johann Gudmundsson unable to get a finishing touch from inches out.Lookman forced a good save Marco Silvestri with a powerful low drive as Charlton played some bright, inventive football. However, the chances were few; Reza Ghoochannejhad hit a tame shot to the keeper, while Vaz Te was wide with a first time effort.Reza repeated his attempt from long distance in the second half and was equally unsuccessful, much to the home fans' frustration.Leeds took 20 minutes to trouble Stephen Henderson who took an Alex Mowatt free kick with ease, while Lewis Cook curled a shot wide.Holmes-Dennis continued to be a menace down the left flank and the attacking full-back caused mayhem in the Leeds area before Silvestri saved from Lookman.Silvestri made a stunning save low down to deny Vaz Te who was clean through, eight yards, connecting with a low Gudmundsson cross. The Leeds keeper was also equal to a decent Vaz Te free kick from 25-yards, won by Lookman with Giuseppe Bellusci becoming one of five United players booked, with seven players being cautioned all together.Stuart Dallas tested the Addicks keeper with a low drive, which was cleared for a corner, hit over the bar by Bridcutt but on the whole Leeds offered little in attack until the final flurry.Mowatt shot over the bar with a volley and when Cook thought he had found a way through his shot was blocked by team-mate Wood, while Tom Adeyemi missed a sitter from six yards.Henderson saved well from a low Charlie Taylor shot from the edge of the area and Alou Diarra made a vital headed clearance
