Charlton Athletic vs Bristol Rovers PREVIEW

Last updated : 24 November 2009 By Matt Fricker

With rain and winds of up to 20mph predicted to fall tonight, Addicks fans should wrap up warm as Phil Parkinson’s men look to inflict a battering on Bristol Rovers.

The Pirates currently sit in 7th place in League One having won their last two games against Carlisle and Gillingham. Paul Trollope’s men will be looking to turn around a torrid away record during their visit to SE7, as they have not won away since their 3 -2 victory over Southampton in September.

Should Charlton win tonight, they will be hoping for Leeds, Colchester and Huddersfield to slip up against Leyton Orient, Stockport and Swindon respectively as this would see the Londoners move up to 6 points clear of third place while reducing Leeds’ lead at the top of League One to 3 points.

In team news the visitors will be without on loan Charlton striker Chris Dickson who is unable to play due to his loan contract. The Addicks will be without Sam Sodje, as the defender serves a one match ban for his red card at the weekend, Miguel Llera is expected to return to the starting line up for the Addicks.

The main question facing Parky when looking at the starting eleven for tonight will be whether to play David Mooney up front alongside Deon Burton, or Akpo Sodje, who scored his first Addicks goal against Yeovil, Or could the Addicked see Burton rested in the place of a Mooney – Sodje partnership up front tonight?

My prediction for tonight’s starting line up is:

GK: Carl Ikeme

RB: Kelly Youga

CB: Christian Dailly

CB: Miguel Llera

LB: Grant Basey

RM: Lloyd Sam

CM: Jose Semedo

CM: Nicky Bailey ©

LM: Therry Racon

CF: Deon Burton

CF: David Mooney

Subs: Darren Randolph, Elliot Omozusi, Matt Spring, Scott Wagstaff, Jonjo Shelvey, Akpo Sodje, Izale McLeod

Come on you Addicks!
