My Views: Tottenham 2 Charlton 3

I certainly picked the right game to experience my first away game this season. The game had everything including a very nervy second half.

It was the best I have seen Charlton play this season. And that’s shocking because it was away from home at Tottenham of all places.

People will say that we were lucky or it was because Tottenham was poor, which were all factors but Charlton really did play well. We were all in shock going two up in the first half, and both from Shaun Bartlett. It was amazing and every time we scored we went absolutely mental. And we certainly deserved it in the first half.

The second half kicked off the same way and Thomas got a lucky deflected goal and we were in dreamland. At this point I couldn’t see us being beat, but its typical of football that we were reduced to 10 men when Bartlett handled and the ref gave a penalty which Keane scored from.

And from this point onwards it was all Tottenham. It was very difficult to watch, especially when the second went in. It was all Tottenham but we managed to hold on for the win. The players certainly looked pleased and the fans were going mad.

I must mention Chris Perry who was outstanding in defence. Thomas was also great to watch.

Overall it was a great performance and I hope we can follow it up with a win over Norwich.
