Once again, another poor performance from the lads away from home, but this time we came away with the win. Our history in the league cup has been very poor, I dont think we have progressed past the 4th round in the competition, which is strange considering its probably the easiest of the competitions.
Hopefully this will be the year where we actually have a good run in either cup competitions, but after last nights performance, it does make me wonder.
The only good thing to say about last nights game is that we played really bad but still won the game. Grimsby were very unlucky not to get anything from the game, considering they dominated the whole 90 minutes, but thanks to a great free kick from Danny Murphy and a late counter attack that ended up with Jeffers scoring his 3rd for the club, we managed to go through.
It will be interesting to see who we get next round, a home tie against Premiership oppersition would be nice, but we will have to wait and see.
Finally it is nice to see Danny Murphy improving after a lot of critism over the past 2 weeks, im hoping for a good performance against Blackburn on monday night in front on the Sky camera's again.
