My Views: Charlton vs Southampton

My Views: Charlton 0 Southampton 0

Once again Charlton prove how inconsistent they are as they draw 0-0 with Southampton in a very dull match at The Valley in front of the sky camera's.

I don’t know where to begin - the game was awful from a Charlton viewpoint. At least Southampton can be happy with a point away from home, but for us it was a nightmare.

It may have been 0-0, and we did gain a point and kept our unbeaten record at home, but it was the performance, which was so worrying. I can understand now why we were beaten twice away from home by four goals, especially playing like we did tonight, and I can see it happening again on Saturday against Birmingham if we don’t change.

I was just amazed by some of the performances by our key players. Danny Murphy was shocking in midfield, he could string a few simply passes together against a team with no manager. Murphy use to be an England international and played for one of the top clubs in this country, but he can’t perform at all for us.
And why does Alan Curbishley play Radostin Kishishev, he isn’t a midfielder, infact he isn’t a good defender. He gives the ball away far to often and is poor when it comes to tackling, surely Graham Stuart or Bryan Hughes are better players?

For me the only player that down ok was Dennis Rommendahl - he took on the defence many times in the first half and was successful down the left hand side, until Curbishley decides to change him when he was our biggest threat on there goal. Curbishley is a great manager but sometimes I do wonder on some of his decisions. Lets hope he gets in right against Birmingham on Saturday, otherwise It could be a long season for us when you consider we were lucky against Portsmouth, were lucky in the first half hour against Villa and have been hammered twice away from home.
