My Views: Charlton 1 Newcastle 1

another good result in my opinion, I really enjoyed the game, it was end to end and could have had more goals. Overall a great game for Sky and also to celebrate the centenary.

Newcastle at home was always going to be a tough game, allot of people I spoke to thought we would lose, and Newcastle certainly showed their class in the first half. For the first 15 minutes we couldn't get near them, they dominated while we only really had one good chance which fell to Graham Stuart who's shot was saved. Bellamy scored the opener, which was a good goal, great cross from Bernard on the left who caused allot of problems, and a great finish from Bellamy.

The second half was a different Charlton. Curbishley made one change, which was switching Stuart and Rommendahl over, which was a great move as Stuart stopped Bernard's threats on the wing.

Charlton went straight at Newcastle, which was great to see, and were rewarded when Lisbie scored the equaliser, which was credited to an own goal in the end but surely Lisbie will claim it. It was now end to end stuff with both teams looking for the win, Newcastle were close when Murphy cleared off the line and we got closer through Rommendahl who hit the crossbar and then somehow Holland's shot hit the post and didn't go in.

Overall it was a great game, I think a point is fair but what was really positive was Murphy had a great game and Holland is back and to his best, it was one of the best performances I have seen this season. Lets hope we can improve out away form next week against Liverpool. As long as its not 4-0 I will be happy.
