It was a great night on wednesday at The Valley. A brilliant London derby and another step closer to our european dreams.

It was a superb game. End to end, lots of dirty tackles, a great crowd and 2 great goals. Jerome Thomas got us started with a great goal. It was one of those moments where you know its a good effort but didnt expect it to go in.

It was what we needed. And I think the difference between this game and most other games this season is we didnt sit back. We needed the second to win it and I was very happy to see Murphy get it against the club he nearly joined in the summer.

Once again The Valley faithful booed Jemaine Defoe - an interesting point which I noticed while he was warming up was when we were singing "Judus give us the score" he replied and clapped, which I thought had some nerve but it shows the player knows what to expect on his return to The Valley.

West Brom is next at home on saturday. Another must win game and it is bigger than the Spurs game because wednesdays result will be wasted if we dont get 3 points against West Brom
