My Views: Birmingham vs Charlton

At last a point away from home. After two 4 goal thrashings away and a poor 0-0 against Southampton last monday, I was pleased with yesterdays performance, even though we should of won the game when they went to ten men in the second half.

But there were alot of pluses for the game. Curbishley made plenty of changes leaving the likes of Rommendahl, Euell and Jeffers on the bench, and it seemed to of worked up to the equaliser from Dwight Yorke.

Danny Murphy was under alot of preasure this week and he needed to improve for the game, and he did. The only only bad point was he didnt get forward enough, but instead concentrated on defending more.

Jonatan Johansson also put on a good performace up front, he created the goal and caused porblems for Birmingham, I would be tempted to drop Lisbie for the Blacknurn game and play Jeffers along side Johansson instead, I still feel Johansson has more goals in him, he just needs a few games to prove it.

Before the game I would of taken a point, and even though Birmingham went down to ten men, I was still pleased with the point. We couldnt afford to lose this game and done well away from home for the first time this season. We have Blackburn next at home a week on monday, I hope the Sky TV camera's dont jinx us again and we get the win which would be needed to continue a reasonable good start to the season.
