Last updated : 29 May 2002 By David Robson
Bid4sport.com is the auction memorabilia site that auctions signed memorabilia from the likes of Beckham, Owen, Figo, Zidane and which helps good causes via charity auctions.

Throughout the World Cup bid4sport will be holding a fantastic series of auctions around all the big games and all the big names, and will be assiting charities that will include the likes of the Andy Cole Children's Foundation (www.andycolecf.com).

Earlier this year a Soccernet-Bid4sport vote was held where visitors had to choose who was the best player, Zinedine Zidane or David Beckham. This attracted a record entry of over 42,000 with Zidane being voted the number one.

We are delighted to offer fans the chance to win a football signed not only by Zidane, but also by his Madrid team mate and rival as the world's number one, Luis Figo.

This fantastic prize also has the bonus signatures of Fabien Barthez, Peter Schemichel and Patrick Kluivert and comes complete with a Certificate Of Authenticity signed by Bid4sport.com founder Barry Venison. There will also be an additional mystery prize for the lucky winner!

About bid4sport

Bid4sport.com is the memorabilia auction site founded by former Newcastle, Liverpool, Sunderland and England defender Barry Venison, where lovers of sport can bid for items of autographed memorabilia.

The site, which regularly features signed items from the likes of Beckham, Owen, Figo, Rivaldo and Zidane, has also been supported by the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Robbie Fowler, Henrik Larsson , Darren Gough, Alan Smith and Andy Cole. Bid4sport prides itself on all items being 100 per cent authentic and all items come with a COA signed by Venison himself.

The site was inspired by Peggy and Friends, the child amputee charity of which Venison is patron and which it has raised funds for. Such has been the response that it has also helped a small number of other children's charities.

These have included the Variety Club Of Great Britain, the Birmingham based National Institute of Conductive Education, and national disabled children's charity, the ACE Centre Advisory Trust.

The site has recently helped the chosen charity of Matt Le Tissier, the Geoff Smith Charity Fund for which is raised £2,000 for a shirt signed by Matt. The fundraising efforts of Republic of Ireland legend Niall Quinn have also been assited by bid4sport and the site is now working with the Andy Cole Children's Foundation.
