The 23-year-old was listed when contract talks broke down earlier this year, but after scoring Saturday's equaliser against Sunderland he told Capital Gold: "We're close to an agreement now and I'm confident I will be here next season."
Curbishley added: "I'm sure he wants to sign for us and we are just waiting for it to happen."
