Super Clive Returns On Saturday

The 33-year-old hat-trick hero of the 1998 play-off final against the Black Cats was forced to retire through injury earlier this season, but will go out on the pitch in the run-up to kick-off this weekend to receive what is certain to be an emotional salute from a sell-out Valley crowd.

Mendonca's return is part of a programme of special events surrounding the game, including the formal opening of the north stand and the now traditional appearance of Charlton's Swedish tenor Bjorn Arvidsson.

Fans are advised to be in their seats by 2.30pm to avoid missing any of the festivities.
