Powell set to take Charlton job

Charlton Athletic have offered their vacant manager's job to former Addicks full-back Chris Powell and he will accept it, BBC Sport understands.The 41-year-old ex-England international, who is currently a coach at Leicester, played over 250 games during three spells at The Valley.

He will take over from Phil Parkinson who was sacked on 4 January.

Charlton currently lie sixth in League One, six points off the automatic promotion places.
