Powell Knows Nothing About Addicks Return

The former Addicks left-back, who is now playing at Watford, had been rumoured to be set for a return to The Valley as new manager Les Reed's assistant.

"I saw the reports linking me with a return to Charlton as Les Reed's right-hand man, but I have to say I really don't know anything about it," said Powell.

"Charlton haven't been in contact and it is not something we are discussing.

"I am contracted to Watford and I am enjoying everything about trying to make sure we remain a Premiership side.

"I've been out injured and I am trying to get myself back into the team, but I am also lending my experience to the players and I am enjoying the role.

"I've no intention of stopping playing. I still enjoy the game and have a zest for it. I can see why I've been mentioned with a return to Charlton.

"Obviously I don't have coaching experience but that's something I'm looking into. I am taking my A licence in the summer and I am looking forward to that.

"It would be silly of me not to prepare for the future."
