Marcus Bent's 62nd-minute goal put the Addicks ahead before an Izzy Iriekpen equaliser seven minutes later meant that the points were shared.

"I thought we were good offensively," said Pardew

"The down side for us was when we scored," "We got a little bit sloppy for that five or six minutes that followed.

"Our best player of the match, Yassin Moutaouakil, gave away a corner, and then Marcus Bent was probably celebrating getting that monkey off his back of getting his 100th goal, and let his man go basically. He's held his hands up in the dressing room and so he should.

"I warned before the game kicked off that this is a new team, we need to learn how to win, and we didn't do very well in those six or seven minutes. But overall I thought there were a lot of positives."
