No one is amused, least of all Curbs

Charlton simply looked like they had downed tools for the afternoon, was The Independent's reflection of the Addicks 3-0 defeat at the JJB Stadium on Saturday.

Curbishley said afterwards: "I'll accept any criticism the fans want to send my way. We do it to our fans every year, we set them up and don't quite follow through. The fans have been very tolerant but they won't stomach too much more of this. All of them (the players) have to have good look at themselves on the way home. I'm not going to tolerate what's been served up in recent weeks. I will do my best and try to turn it around. I pick the team but some of those players have got to take some responsibility, and they didn't today when it came to defending."

"Some of them, with their performances today, have said to me, 'Get me out of here'. Some of them won't get near the team again unless they get their acts together. It just seems that the basic art of defending has gone out of our side. I've got a midfield who don't want to track their man, who don't want to put a tackle in and just let the other team play. It's very difficult to take but if you're letting in goals like that you've not got a prayer. We've got to stop it."
