MK Dons battle past Charlton and Karl Robinson

Ben Reeves and Dean Bowditch both struck in extra time as MK Dons made it an unhappy return for former manager Karl Robinson by defeating his Charlton side 3-1 in an FA Cup second-round replay.

It is now two home wins in the space of four days for new Dons boss Robbie Neilson, who can look forward to a trip to Brighton in round three next month.

The hosts went ahead in the sixth minute when Joe Aribo was caught in possession by Darren Potter, who slid the ball through for Daniel Powell to apply the finish.

It was a player familiar to the home fans who equalised for Charlton, as Adam Chicksen fired into the bottom corner against his old club.

The Addicks almost snatched victory in the 90th minute, when Nicky Ajose was denied by a good save by Lee Nicholls, meaning an extra half-hour was required.

The Dons finally decided the tie within seven minutes of the restart, as Reeves whipped in a beauty from outside the area before Bowditch finished calmly when through one-on-one.
