Luke Young made more than 200 appearances as a Charlton player and initally joined from Spurs in 2001 for £4m. He was awarded player of the year in 2005 and capped seven times for England.

His impressive and solid defensive displays won him many plaudits from Charlton fans over the years and will be missed.

The versatile right back scored four times during his Charlton career, most recently in a 2 - 0 home win against Liverpool in 2006 and last season away against Watford to gain a valuable point in a 2-2 draw.
