The £4.75million signing from Wimbledon in 2001 who has 18 months to run on his contract dislocated a shoulder in pre-season but returned for the reserves at the end of November. He said, "The last 18 months have been a waste. I’ve been fit for weeks and haven’t even got on the bench."
Curbishley said, "At the start of the season there was a lot of speculation, Birmingham were quite keen but they mucked about on the price and this and that and in the end Jason had to go and play some football. He tried to do that and got injured."
