But Alan Curbishley admitted to The Sun that the cash from the deal will not be available for him to spend in next month’s transfer window.

Curbs said: "It’s a bigger deal than we had before but our budget is our budget. I don’t know if it’s going to make much difference to what we will have to spend in this window. We just have to get on with it.

"The financial side of the deal is obviously a big bonus, but I can assure people that we're more interested in the people in the partnership than the money.

Sports Minister Richard Caborn attended the event toasting the deal, which was held at The House of Commons.

Caborn said: "The company (property developers, Llanera) are setting up here and they are doing this to make sure that they get major exposure in London; obviously there is a lot of activity around the 2012 Olympics and the construction industry, so there is a lot of opportunity here and I'm sure the sponsorship deal will work out well for them as well."
