In a repeat of last season’s fixture list the mighty Addicks open their League One campaign against newly promoted opposition before an away trip to a lower league side (Shrewsbury) in the first round of the Carling Cup and an away trip to Leyton Orient welcome Charlton in their first three games.
Fans will undoubtedly be optimistic after reading the fixtures list as the run in to the season is remarkably less treacherous on paper than last seasons run in was.
Although the fixtures list looks promising on first glance, as we discovered last season, there’s bound to be some twists and turns as we once again aim for promotion.
