Eastwood Blow For Addicks

Manager Alan Pardew was expected to make a move for the Welsh international no matter what division his side was in after this season, and with The Addicks now getting ready for Championship football, a £3 million move was on the cards.

But Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin has put a 'hands-off' warning on the striker. "Just because we have got relegated the situation has not changed regarding Freddy. He isn't for sale and he isn't going anywhere," Martin told the club's official website.

"We have activated the year option we had on his contract, so we have signed him up and he will definitely be part of the team next season because we aren't a selling club.

"We want to be going for promotion next season and the chances of that happening are far greater with Freddy in the team."
