Dowie: Respect To Chesterfield

"I have to pay a huge amount of respect and credit to Chesterfield. They were magnificent and pushed us every inch of way," Dowie said after the win at Saltergate.

"But I also want to pay a great deal of respect to our character. We didn't buckle under difficult circumstances, even at the end when we conceded for a third time at a set-piece.

"We've come back with great character. There are lots of positives for us but Chesterfield deserved their moment in the spotlight.

"It was great for Jimmy (Hasselbaink) to get a couple of goals. His first goal was a calculated finish and his second was a consummate finish. So we're delighted for Jim.

"Look at his history. Jimmy gets goals and it was as only going to be a matter of time."
