Dowie has lost his job at the Valley just six months after taking over from Alan Curbishley and with the club rock-bottom of the Premier League table.
"The Addicks announced on Monday night that head coach Iain Dowie had left Charlton," a statement on the club's official website reads.
"The club will issue a further statement on Tuesday morning."
