The Addicks currently lie bottom of the Premier League table and reports have suggested that unless they get two good results from their next two fixtures the former Crystal Palace manager could be facing the sack.

"It's not true that I have two games to save my career, not that I'm aware of anyway," Dowie has said.

"I've been very well supported at Charlton. I've had no comments other than positive ones about what we're trying to do here.

"We've had key decisions go against us but the lads' spirit and commitment has been excellent.

"I'm aware that we need some results and that's the end of the story, I've said that from day one.

"I speak to the chairman every day and he's been fine. Obviously, he's as frustrated as I am with the results but he's been very supportive."
