"Generally the supporters' reaction was great and they really got behind the players but I understand where they are coming from," the Charlton boss said after the 0-0 draw at The Valley.
"We have played nine games and have only got four points and that's not good enough so I am prepared to take the criticism.
"We created some good opportunities but didn't have the rub of the green with some of the decisions and our final execution wasn't always as good as it could have been.
"But I couldn't fault the team's spirit, that is all I could ask for, but we should be winning these kinds of matches at home.
"We have got to go to Newcastle next week and get a result. I have a lot of belief in the players and I am sure we can get our first away point."
