The Addicks 1-0 win at The Valley took their tally to three successive Premiership games games without conceding a goal.

"We performed really well for a large part of the game but towards the end made some poor decisions as we saw victory in sight," the Charlton boss said after the match.

"We invited pressure at the end and this was very frustrating but the win was all important and there were some outstanding defensive performances.

"We worked very hard defensively to put things right. We have watched videos and all you can ask is that the players learn from previous mistakes.

"They have taken this on board which is why we have improved defensively.

"The victory was a great boost for us and reaffirmed our belief that we can get out of trouble. But we must build on the recent encouraging results."
