As the season approaches its climax Darren Bent has contributed 20 goals for the club in his first Premiership campaign.

Addicks boss Alan Curbishley said: "From the first day he was like a breath of fresh air. He wanted to be in the team photo, wanted to win the running. He has been first class. This was not just another season for him."

Meanwhile, despite preferring to have Jason Euell on the bench in recent weeks, Curbishley has insisted that former Newcastle United midfielder Darren Ambrose is settled at the club.

Speaking ahead of Charlton's FA Cup replay at Middlesbrough, Curbs said after training: "We had to push him (Bent) and Darren Ambrose back into the building."
