After singling out Tottenham’s Michael Carrick for having a "terrific" performance against the Addicks last weekend, Curbs last night said Xabi Alonso was "immense" after Charlton had beaten Liverpool 2-0 at the Valley.
He did hold some praise in reserve for his own players. They prevented the European Champions from staging a comeback after Charlton scored twice late on in the first half. "But then the way Liverpool started they had to," Curbishley added.
