Coach Damian Matthew was delighted with his side after two goals from captain Scott Wagstaff, a brace from Jonjo Shelvey and a Ben Godfrey strike gave the Addicks a 5-1 victory.

"It was a fantastic performance again from the boys' said Matthew.

"We're enjoying our nights here and we felt the preparation last time got them used to it.

"As the coach you're disappointed with the one we conceded but we scored some excellent goals and we were really pleased with the discipline shown in the second half.

"We pride ourselves on our preparation and our organisation and we'd done our homework on Swindon.

"Both myself and [reserve-team coach] Mark Kinsella went down to watch them and they're a good side so it showed the amount of talent we have got at this football club and the amount of hunger and desire to succeed from the staff and players."

The youngsters will now take on Premiership Sunderland at The Valley on Wednesday 27th February (7pm).
