Charlton Sign Sam Sodje

Charlton have completed the signing of central defender Sam Sodje.

The 29 year old Nigerian international who was born in Greenwich, made 20 appearances on loan for the Addicks during the 2007/08 season, scoring twice.

Sodje spent last season on loan with fellow League One pace setters Leeds United, and has been a free agent since the summer, on deciding to return to SE7, Sodje said, “"It's something I feel is right. I'm local to the area so Charlton is my club and I can't wait to get going. I had a few other clubs interested but this move is the one that's right for me. I loved it here before. This club is in my blood.”

Sam Sodje is the third transfer day signing for Phil Parkinson’s Addicks along with Luke Holden and Leon McKenzie as Parky looks to strengthen his squad with players who have proven experience at a higher level than League One.

And Sam Sodje, although delighted with the early form shown by his team mates admits that the rest of the season will not be as easy, "You need to be consistent in this league and that's what Charlton have done. But it's still early doors and five wins is just the beginning, we need to maintain it every week.”

Come on you Addicks!
