He said: "We have totally lost the confidence we had from winning all those games at the start of the season. When you have more than half the team struggling you have a problem.
"It’s time to be brave on and off the field. We are still 11th and a good run could pull us out of it."
Alan Curbishley realises Charlton must start to turn results around, with two London derbies at home over the festive period.
"We've got 20-odd games left and loads of points to play for - does confidence breed results or do results breed confidence? I think you have to have both if you're going to be successful and I'm just looking for a result," he said.
