Benson targets goal-rush

Charlton striker Paul Benson was relieved to finally get off the mark for his new club against MK Dons this week - and hopes the floodgates have opened. Benson, a prolific scorer for former club Dagenham, had not found the net in his first five games since moving to The Valley, but finally broke his duck with an 85th-minute volley as Charlton ran out 1-0 winners on Tuesday night. "I'm delighted. I'm a forward and the last time I scored was at Wembley for Dagenham in the play-off final," he said. "That's too long for me. I went four games for Dagenham at the start of the season without scoring and then five for Charlton and as a forward you're judged on the goals you score. I've only scored one so far so I need to start delivering more. "I didn't think there was a better feeling than scoring at Wembley but that matched it. It was a great time to score and a good moment for me. It's one I want to replicate as much as I can throughout the season."
