Oldham vs Charlton PREVIEW

Last updated : 08 May 2010 By Matt Fricker

It’s currently raining in Charlton, the country’s political system is in turmoil and none of it matters today.

All that matters is Oldham.

When we emerge victorious this afternoon, the Addicks will be guaranteed at least 4th place. Meaning that The Valley will play host to the 2nd leg of the playoffs.

If we finish 4th we’re likely to play the looser of Millwall vs Swindon (unless Huddersfield also win).

If however the Lions and Robins draw. We will finish in 3rd place and face whoever finishes 6th.

A play off position is only certain to happen if one Charlton legend isn’t able to help his old team out for one last time.

I am of course talking about Houdini himself, Mr Lennie Lawrence, who’s Bristol Rovers side face Leeds today at Elland Road.

They beat us, and hopefully they’ll be able to ruin a 3rd consecutive season for Leeds.

A draw for Millwall vs Swindon and loss for Leeds leaves it all in our hands.

Like many, I’ll be sat around Charlton player praying for the improbable to happen and the mighty Addicks to finish the day in 2nd place.

That said stranger things have happened in football.

COME ON YOU ADDICKS!!!!!!!!!!
