Huddersfield Town vs Charlton Athletic PREVIEW

Last updated : 27 March 2010 By Matt Fricker

When Huddersfield visited The Valley in October, Charlton won the game 2 -1 thanks to an Izale McLeod header which was enough to return the Addicks to the top of League One.

The return fixture today sees Lee Clark’s side sit in 7th place battling for a spot in the playoffs while, in fourth place, we are behind Millwall for the first time this season and really need a win to keep hopes of automatic promotion alive.

Transfer news came through late on Thursday from Phil Parkinson that 3 deadline day signings had been made in the shape of veteran Goalkeeper Tony Warner, veteran Goal Machine Nicky Forster and West Ham youngster Matt Fry.

Nicky Forster is the player most will be excited about, as with 16 goals to his name this season, he is already our top scorer without having even kicked a ball in a Charlton shirt.

Trivia fans will love having a natural goal scorer in our ranks as Nicky’s record at Brighton was 40 goals in 98 appearances. It’s worth noting that Clive Mendonca got 40 in 84 games for the Addicks and Darren Bent scored 31 in 68 games.

In October the game was attack led and an open affair for both sides, and I fully believe today will style of football played.

With this in mind, my prediction for the starting 11 is:

GK: Tony Warner

RB: Frazer Richardson

CB: Sam Sodje

CB: Christian Dailly

LB: Gary Borrowdale

RM: Lloyd Sam

CM: Nicky Bailey ©

CM: Jose Semedo

LM: Kyel Reid

CF: David Mooney

CF: Nicky Forster

Subs: Darren Randolph, Chris Solly, Miguel Llera, Therry Racon, Jonjo Shelvey, Scott Wagstaff, Tamer Tuna

Come on you Addicks!!!!
