Charlton Athletic vs Exeter City PREVIEW

Last updated : 25 September 2009 By Matt Fricker

September is nearly over and the trip to Elland Road for Leeds away is merely two games away, first of all though, Phil Parkinson’s Addicks must fend off the challenge of Paul Tisdale’s Grecians.

Exeter have had a less than impressive start to the League One season, winning two, drawing three and loosing three in their opening eight fixtures.

Charlton on the other hand have only been denied victories in their previous two fixtures as a result of controversial decisions by the match officials on the day.

The main team news from the Exeter camp is that the Grecians will be without on loan Charlton striker Stuart Fleetwood, who is unable to play against his parent club.

In terms of injury news for the Addicks, Nicky Bailey and Frazer Richardson have both missed training sessions this week due to injuries sustained during the Norwich match, while Deon Burton left Carrow Road with a broken nose. However, it is hoped that the Addicks boss will be able to name an unchanged side, especially in the case of Deon Burton, who will be looking to score his 100th career goal after taking his tally to 99 last weekend.

My predicted Charlton team for the visit of Exeter City is:

GK: Rob Elliott
LB: Kelly Youga
CB: Christian Dailly
CB: Miguel Llera
RB: Frazer Richardson
LM: Nicky Bailey (c)
CM: Jose Semedo
CM: Therry Racon
RM: Lloyd Sam
SS: Jonjo Shelvey
CF: Deon Burton

Subs: Darren Randolph, Sam Sodjie, Chris Solly, Scott Wagstaff, Matt Spring, Izale McLeod, Tamer Tuna

Come on you Addicks!
