Charlton Athletic vs Colchester United PREVIEW

Last updated : 01 February 2011 By Matt Fricker

We may be 8th in the league but good news; we have at least one game in hand over the teams above us (three if the team is Bournemouth).

The bad news is that we’re going to have one hell of a fixture pile up in these last four months, that said, we’ve also got a new left back, Matt Fry may also stay longer, Chris Solly’s back in training, and our biggest two signings of the window were Alex Dyer as our new Assistant Manager and Bradley Wright-Phillips, the leagues top scorer.

For Sir Chris, this means a selection headache as such, especially as Paul Benson is back from suspension, although we’ve also had to say goodbye to Akpo Sodje.

Colchester sit one place below us in the table, level on 38 points, having played one game more. When the sides met at Colchester, a 3-3 score line was the full time result in a performance that actually saw us come from behind three times.

While I’d love to see an easy win for the Addicks, I’m not sure it’ll happen, I think we’ll have to graft a result tonight, that said, if we play like we did against Plymouth, we’ll walk it.

My prediction for tonight’s team is:

GK: Rob Elliot

RB: Simon Francis

CB: Gary Doherty

CB: Christian Dailly ©

LB: Matt Fry

RM: Scott Wagstaff

CM: Jose Semedo

CM: Therry Racon

LM: Johnnie Jackson

CF: Joe Anyinsah

CF: Bradley Wright- Phillips

Subs: Ross Worner, Federico Bessone, Jonathan Fortune, Ross McCormack, Kyel Reid, Paul Benson, Nathan Eccleston

COME ON YOU ADDICKS!!!
