Walsall vs Charlton Athletic PREVIEW

Last updated : 02 January 2010 By Matt Fricker

Happy New Year to one and all!

Charlton start the new decade with a trip to 10th placed Walsall looking to return to winning ways following 3 successive draws.

When the sides met at The Valley, Lloyd Sam was the star of the show, as his performance and goal helped the Addicks to a comfortable 2 -0 victory.

In team news for this afternoon’s game, Deon Burton is a doubt with a dead leg, while Sam Sodje is still suspended.

The Addicks may be boosted by the return of Christian Dailly and Frazer Richardson, both of whom have missed the last few games through injury.

Should Charlton win today and Norwich be unable to defeat Wycombe, the Addicks will make a six point gap between 2nd and 3rd place, although both Norwich and Colchester will still have 2 games in hand on Phil Parkinson’s side.

My prediction for today’s starting line up is:

 GK: Rob Elliot

RB: Elliot Omozusi,

CB: Christian Dailly

CB: Miguel Llera

LB: Grant Basey

RM: Lloyd Sam

CM: Jose Semedo

CM: Nicky Bailey

LM: Scott Wagstaff

CF: Akpo Sodje

CF: Chris Dickson

Subs: Darren Randolph, Chris Solly, Matt Spring, Jonjo Shelvey, Chris Dickson, Leon McKenzie, Izale McLeod

Come on you Addicks!
