Northwich Victoria vs Charlton Athletic PREVIEW

Last updated : 07 November 2009 By Matt Fricker

The TV cameras will be hoping for an upset from a Northwich side who stole headlines in the 1976-77 season when victories over Rochdale, Manchester City, and Watford led The Vics to a 4th round tie against Oldham Athletic where 29,000 fans packed into Manchester City’s Maine Road stadium to witness Oldham win 3 -1 and move on to the 5th round.

In terms of team news for the Londoners, Leon McKenzie is edging closer to full fitness as is Frazer Richardson and there has been welcome news that not only has Dean Sinclair begun light training following his long absence but Rob Eliot has been reacting well to treatment on his abductor injury and is hoped to return to first team action sooner than was originally expected.

Following Norwich travelling to Paulton Rovers and thumping 7 goals past them, the Addicks will be well aware of the result they need to get against their Blue Square North opposition if they are going to prove that their confidence is well and truly back.

That said; I still believe Phil Parkinson will have one eye firmly on Wednesday’s JPT tie with Southampton and as a result will play a team of:

GK: Darren Randolph
RB: Elliot Omozusi
CB: Miguel Llera
CB: Sam Sodje
LB: Grant Basey
RM: Scott Wagstaff
CM: Matt Spring
CM: Jose Semedo
LM: Nicky Bailey ©
CF: Izale McLeod
CF: Leon McKenzie

Subs: Jack Binks, Yado Mambo, Kelly Youga, Luke Holden, Jonjo Shelvey, Deon Burton, Tamer Tuna

Come on you Addicks!
