Away Views: Charlton Athletic vs Newcastle Utd

We interviewd Paul Ewart from www.NewcastleUtd-Mad.co.uk on this views on Charlton's next oppenents Newcastle Utd.

Players to watch out for?

The players to look out for in our team at the moment would have to be our 2 midfield creators Jenas and Bowyer, Bowyer’s good form from last season has carried on into this season with some inspired performances in the centre of the park, and JJ seems to be recapturing the form that won him Young Player of the Year award a few years back, upfront Kluivert is a class act who’s movement and control are second to none

Your views on Charlton?

Charlton are a team that surprise me as when you look at the players in the team, on paper they don’t have the quality of the teams around them in the league but they always seem to do well. In Alan Curbishley you have one of the best managers in the division. In Francis Jeffers you’ve got a quality finisher if he can pick up the form he showed at Everton as a youngster. Dean Kiely is a keeper I have always admired and he would have been Irelands number one if it wasn't for our Shay! At times this season you have played well and won games but some of your results have been a shock the Bolton and Man City games.

Your expectations for the season?

This season for Newcastle will hopefully be heading for a cup, either FA, League or UEFA in the league I can see us finishing 5th again to claim another season in the UEFA cup then hopefully we can push on next season and look to get back into the champions league.

Player for the future?

Players to look out for in the future is young centre half Steven Taylor, he was on loan at Wycombe last season and got some rave reviews, he has also captained England u21’s. Also there is the obvious talent of James Milner who scored a good goal last season at the Valley for Leeds.

Your views on Greame Souness?

When Greame Souness was appointed as manager I didn’t think it was the right choice but he seems to have settled in ok, the real test will come when we have to play the big guns in arsenal man utd and Chelsea then we will see how his tactics match up to our rivals.

Prediction for the game?

I predict a hard match for us but I see us just scraping it 2-1, good luck for the season,
