Away Views: Birmingham vs Charlton

Last updated : 30 September 2004 By David Robson
Charlton Mad interviewed Brian Cartlidge from www.Birmingham-Mad.co.uk and John Baker from http://www.Bluesmuse.com/ to get their views on the game between Birmingham and Charlton on Saturday.

Player to look out for on Saturday?

STB: Emile Heskey is playing superbly at the moment.

BluesMuse: Heskey. I was at St. Andrews in May and saw him tear us apart while with Liverpool. He has continued in the same vein, and is by far our most effective player at the moment.

Your views on Charlton?

STB: Signed some good players during the close season (be nice to see Hughsey back at St Andrews) and I expect you to be up in the top ten again this season.

Blue'sMuse: Glad I got to see them today (vs Southampton), but my opinion hasn't changed. They are well managed, organised, and have progressed steadily in recent seasons. Kiely your keeper has performed miracles on occasions - usually against Brum - and he'll be just as difficult on Saturday. I'm sorry to see Bryan Hughes in the same situation he was at at the Blues, but wih his immense talent and a good run in the first team, he will make an impact. He also can score goals, and we will miss him.

Where do you think Birmingham will finish at the end of the season?

STB: I think we'll be in and around the top ten come May.

BluesMuse: Top six.

Player for the future?

STB: Left back Mat Sadler. I, along with many other fans, have been surprised
at his not being included for the last couple of games considering our
injury problems in the left back position.

BluesMuse: Mmmmmm. Midfielder Darren Carter has it all, but like all Blues young 'uns, isn't given a chance to prove so when injuries occur.
I rate David Dunn very highly, but his hamstring problems are threatening to cut his career short.

Predictions for Birmingham vs Charlton?

STB: After a roasting by Brucey following the Boro game and Charltons poor
away form so far this season I expect Blues to bounce back in style with a
3-0 win against Charlton.

BluesMuse: Blues 2 Charlton 0 . . . sorry! Brum are going to want it more following their recent near-misses.

Thanks to Brian Cartlidge from www.Birmingham-Mad.co.uk and John Baker from http://www.bluesmuse.com/ for there help
