Charlton Undermined at Underhill

Paul Furlong scored for Barnet on 25 minutes after Kelly Youga slipped trying to pass the ball back to Randolph and Abert Adomah scored a 2nd goal for the hosts 10 minutes from time.

Izale McLeod came close to scoring for Charlton in the first half but his header was tipped away by Cole in goal for the hosts.

The second best chance of the match came after some good work from midfielder Stavinrou in the 2nd half sending a pass to Fleetwood whose shot from the right beat the goal keeper but hit the post and went out.

Players and subs for Charlton included: Randolph; Solly (Davisson 60), Clark, Mambo, Youga; Wagstaff, Semedo (Spring 46), Stavrinou, Small; Fleetwood (Tuna 83), McLeod.

In Charlton's previous friendlies the Addicks beat Crawley Town 2-1 on Thursday 23rd July with goals from Jonjo Shelvey and Izale McLeod but were defeated 3-1 by Forest Green last Saturday 18th July with a goal from Chris Dickson.

With two more friendlies to go against Ipswich Town and AFC Bournemouth, it is clear that Charlton need new addifions to the squad as a priority particularly in defence and upfront if they are to make any impression in League1. Fans are also patiently awaiting news of a possible takeover.
